
Acer Predator Helios 16, Predator Helios 18 and new Predator monitors announced
Acer introduced a pair of Predator gaming monitors as well as two powerful Predator Helios gaming laptops. Acer has launched new Predator Helios gaming laptops with 16-inch and 18-inch displays. In addition to the Predator X27U, both displays have OLED technology with a fast refresh rate of 240 Hz. They include Nvidia GeForce RTX 4000 series dedicated graphics cards and the latest 13th generation Intel Core mobile processors.

Acer’s most powerful line of gaming laptops now includes the brand new Predator Helios 16 (PH16-71) and Predator Helios 18 (PH18-71). Both offer variants with 13th Gen Intel Core i9 or i7 HX processors coupled with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 notebook GPU (MGP up to 165W) and plenty of basic high-end gaming features. Both have a completely new design and improved thermals.
The new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Series GPUs use NVIDIA’s Ada Lovelace architecture, which offers a quantum leap in speed and AI-powered visuals. Users can take advantage of Reflex’s reduced system latency, realistic virtual worlds, improved performance thanks to ray tracing and high-quality images from DLSS 3. Finally, it’s stunning mobile performance that’s perfect for playing the most demanding AAA games thanks to its up to 32GB DDR5 -4800 MHz RAM and up to 2 TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD in RAID 0 configuration.

Powered by AUO AmLED technology, the Predator Helios 16 features a 16-inch (16:10) WQXGA (2560 x 1600) display at 165Hz or 240Hz or Mini LED.[] panel at 250 Hz. This display offers a peak brightness of over 1,000 nits, a high contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1 and 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut for rich, vivid colors.
The Predator Helios 18 offers a stunning 18-inch (16:10) display with the following options: WUXGA (1920×1200) at 165Hz, WQXGA (2560×1600) at 165Hz or 240Hz, or super-fast AUO 250Hz. An LED display that boasts three times the ambient contrast ratio of traditional displays and supports 1000 local dimming zones to give users complete freedom of use even in low light conditions. Images transition smoothly across screens with less ghosting or tearing thanks to the increased quality and fast refresh rate.
The new Predator notebooks have improved thermal solutions with two custom-made 5th generation AeroBlade 3D metal fans and rectangular vector heat pipes for better heat transfer to keep the new powerful components cool. Its excellent thermal performance is overshadowed by the cooling effects of the liquid metal thermoplastic lubricant.
The new design is complemented by a mini-LED backlit keyboard with 1.8 mm key travel and anti-ghosting N-key rollover. The RGB backlit keyboard for each key has been updated to display bright uniform colors (with less halo effect) and smooth dynamic lighting effects, while using a newly built-in backlight module for efficient heat dissipation.
The Intel Killer E2600 Ethernet controller and Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6E AX1675 frequency band compatibility for Predator notebooks ensure gamers are always connected for fast and smooth gaming. USB 3.2 Gen2 ports on gaming laptops offer a wide range of peripherals, including an HDMI 2.1 port, two USB Type-C Thunderbolt 4 connections that support power, and a Micro SD card reader. Additionally, one month of Xbox Game Pass or PC Game Pass is included with the Predator Helios 16 and Predator Helios 18 laptops, providing access to hundreds of top PC games.
Predator X45 and X27U gaming monitors
Predator X45 and Predator X27U, two of the latest Acer Predator gaming monitors, with OLED screens and incredibly fast performance to appeal to even the most avid gamers. The Predator X45 is a 45-inch UWQHD (3440×1440) curved 800R monitor with an ultra-wide narrow bezel that expands the field of view and increases gaming immersion. It also supports 98.5 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut for stunningly realistic photos. It supports both PCs and consoles, has two HDMI 2.0 ports and two DisplayPort 1.4 connections, and is TÜV Rheinland EyeSafe certified. The Predator X45 OLED screen with HDR10 and peak brightness of 1000 nits provides excellent contrast for more detailed viewing, and the device’s UGR-22 rating allows for glare-free gaming in bright environments.

The flat 27-inch WQHD (2560×1440) screen on the Predator X27U has 98.5% DCI-P3 coverage, making it the perfect display for professionals who regularly play video games and need a computer they can rely on. The TÜV Rheinland EyeSafe-certified display also uses HDR10 capabilities and a maximum brightness of 1000 nits to produce stunning and realistic graphics.

The Predator X45 and Predator X27U feature a 240Hz refresh rate, 0.01ms pixel response time and AMD FreeSync Premium technology. Additionally, they offer a KVM switch that makes it easy to switch between desktops and laptops without the need to swap keyboards and mice. A USB hub with USB Type-C is a practical place to store gadgets and other peripherals.
Price and availability
The Predator Helios 16 (PH16-71) will retail from $1,649.99 in North America in March, €2,399 in EMEA in February, and RMB 17,999 in China in February.
The Predator Helios 18 (PH18-71) will go on sale starting at USD 1,699 in North America in April, EUR 2,499 in EMEA in March, and RMB 20,999 in China in February.
In Q2 North America, the Predator X45 will start at $1,699; in Q2 EMEA it will cost €1,799; and it will cost RMB 12,999 in Q1 China.
In Q2, the Predator X27U will be offered in North America, EMEA and China with prices starting at USD 1,099, RMB 7,999 and EUR 1,099.
