How to enable or disable smart downloads on YouTube
Step 1: Open the YouTube app and tap your profile icon in the upper right corner of the screen.

Step 2: Scroll down and select Settings.
Step 3: Select “Backgrounds and Downloads”.
Step 4: Here you will find the ‘Smart Download’ option. Turn on the switch to enable Smart Download for YouTube and turn it off to disable it.
You can also choose the resolution in which you want to save the videos by tapping on “Download Quality”. To save mobile data, you can choose to download videos only when the phone is connected to Wi-Fi.
How to enable or disable smart downloads on YouTube Music
Step 1: Open the YouTube Music app and tap the profile icon in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Step 2: Scroll down and select Settings.
Step 3: Click on ‘Library and Downloads’.
Step 4: Here you will find the ‘Smart Download’ option. Turn on the switch to enable smart downloads for YouTube Music and turn it off to disable it.
You can even decide how many songs you want YouTube Music to automatically download for you. The limit is set to 100 songs by default, but you can expand it to 500 songs.
How to access and remove smart download?
The YouTube app will open the downloads folder when not connected to the Internet. However, if you are connected to the internet, you can access your Smart Downloads by tapping ‘Library’ in the bottom right corner of the screen and selecting ‘Downloads’. To remove a video, simply click on the ellipses next to it and select “Remove from Downloads”.
To access your downloaded songs in the YouTube Music app, tap the “Library” icon in the lower right corner of the screen and select the Downloads folder. To remove any downloads, simply tap the ellipses next to the song and select “Remove Downloads”.
